There are lots of ways to share your time and talent in the Pender-Thurston community. Volunteers are always welcome, and there's never a time like the present to contribute to our own quality of life.

MAIN STREET THRIFTIQUE
Pender's thrift store is run by volunteers and has so far donated back more than half a million dollars to the community. You may donate items to it via a drop box at the front of the store at 404 Main Street. If you'd like to volunteer to run the store or sort items, fresh helpers are always welcomed.

Born from the spirit of the Jaycees, the BGs are a group of younger adults who provide entertainment throughout the year, including the Friday night of alumni weekend in Pender.

The local chamber of commerce is comprised of volunteers who work at Pender and Thurston businesses. The input of all members — who do not need to be business owners — provides a strong foundation for local networking.

VOLUNTEERS IMPROVING PENDER
Volunteers Improving Pender (VIP) is an organization made up of organizations. In other words, this is a group of people who are already volunteering with any of the other groups in the community. They meet at least quarterly — and sometimes more frequently.

The local summer rec program provides opportunities for area children to participate in summer baseball and softball programs, as well as improving the many fields available for competition and practice.
